As the weather is finally getting nicer, I want to write about one of my favorite things to do during the Spring and Summer in Bucks. I always associate nice weather with walking around outside in New Hope and dining outdoors. There are so many restaurants in New Hope that provide outdoor seating with great food and great views to people watch. The Logan Inn, The Landing, Fran's Pub, and Havana's are just a few of the places that I rotate through for a drink or dinner in New Hope. Last Sunday I went over to Poco's in Doylestown for Doo-Wop. I always felt that I was raised in the wrong generation for music so Doo-Wop Sunday sounded like it was right up my alley. While the music was great, the best part of my experience was the crowd at Poco's. There was so much positive energy that it would have been impossible not to have a blast. Everyone was dancing, laughing, and just enjoying themselves while the Doo-Wop sounds enhanced the whole evening. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and entertaining experience, check out Doo-Wop Sunday (the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month) at Poco's in Doylestown.

Last Saturday I was walking around Newtown and decided to stop in to the Temperance House for a drink. They offer Happy Hour deals on the weekend so that was a nice bonus. I liked their selection of draft beers and settled on their IPA. I am a fan of hoppy beers and this one did not disappoint. My Dad met me for a drink as we watched some College Football. What a great way to watch a game...sitting on a couch with a beer at a nice bar. The Temp House also offers drink specials during Penn State and all NFL games! Overall it was another great day in Newtown. Next time you are in the area and looking for a relaxing but fun bar to enjoy a drink and watch the game, definitely try the Temperance House. Last Saturday was quite possibly the nicest day of the year to date. The sun was out, the humidity was down, and it was just a perfect day. The BCNO team had a lunch meeting at Red Robin across from the Oxford Valley Mall, and we of course chose to sit outside. Our server was friendly, attentive, and didn't hesitate to recommend certain items which I always love. We ended up trying their Chili Nachos for an appetizer and I had the California Chicken Sandwich for lunch. The food was excellent and bottom less fries with their famous honey mustard sauce might just be my new vice! All around it was a successful meeting with beautiful weather, cold drinks, and delicious food. Mike BucksCountyNightOut

Last week I had dinner at Carlucci's Grill in Yardley. My family and I were greeted by the hostess and two servers before being seated which was very impressive. They serve regular bread and bruschetta to start which I thought was a nice touch. I ordered their Seafood Pizza which was amazing and really all the food we got was delicious. The BucksCountyNightOut team was in attendance at the Tyler Tasting event on June 4th, 2010. The people at BCCC put on an amazing event with over 40 vendors and 500 people. The turn out was the best ever for this event and it was great to see all the support for the foundation and the students at Bucks. The food was outstanding and the wine/cocktails were excellent as well. There were plenty of give aways at the event including silent auctions, gift certificates, cruise raffles, and more. Everyone in attendance really seemed to be enjoying themselves and all the delicious food and drinks. I strongly recommend this event to anyone who enjoys a great time for a great cause. -BCNO 6/7/10

There was a lot of hype surrounding the event on Saturday night featuring Loretta Allen and Groove Train Riders. BCNO was in the house along with a solid crowd at Cazz's Sports Bar in Levittown. I must say the performers definitely did not disappoint. Loretta Allen kicked off the night with a nice mix of some original music and some R&B covers with her own touch. We all really enjoyed her music and she does a great job of interacting with the crowd to make them feel more involved in the performance. Next up was Groove Train Riders and I was really blown away by their sound. Their name definitely fits their style because I could ride out to their music any day of the week. We had the pleasure of meeting both Loretta and the members of GTR and they are all extrememly nice people. Everyone should definitely check out their schedule and make it to their next performance. We are certainly looking forward to hearing more!

Last night the BCNO team stopped by the Open Mic night at Joseph's Grille in Langhorne. This is a weekly event they do every Thursday at 8pm and it is organized by Serge and Judi who are incredibly nice people. They always get a nice crowd together and a great lineup of talented artists. I was most impressed by the energy in the room as everyone was laughing, dancing, and just having a good time. Joseph's Grille was a place that I had never been to but will certainly be visiting again for more Open Mic fun and also to check out their patio section. The main restaurant area is lined with big glass windows which gives a nice feel to those dining inside. The outdoor patio area is the perfect place to enjoy the beautiful weather and a cold drink in the spring and summer, and Joseph's is even in the process of adding an outdoor bar. I highly recommend heading over there for their Open Mic night to hear some good music and enjoy the positive vibe of the crowd. You may even hear a Dylan song slipped in here or there!

Last night at Big Heads Pub in Bensalem the Surf and Turf Band performed and they were awesome. Their instrumental surf style makes you want to just kick back, relax and enjoy the music. A group of local musicians were in attendance as well and everyone was extremely nice. The bartenders at Big Heads were great too!... Every Wednesday night is Open Mic night at Big Heads so if you are interested in performing, let us know.
